Hi to everyone, well it has happened, it is Monday and I have just heard from the realtor and they have accepted my offer. I wish I could say that I was elated but right now I am cautious and deflated it is a very strange feeling, one the realtor share with me, I guess all the fun has been sucked out of the purchase due to the way the owners have acted, um.

So what happens now.......... well in the Bahamas buying a property is not straight forward, first of all I have to get a survey of the land and any associated covenants, easements etc, as what they say is yours and what is yours can be two very different stories. At the same time I have to get foreign investment board approval which can take up to 3 months, this is because I am an outsider, this process happens with every purchase here - red tape.

The journey continues ............ but I think I almost have a project, and this is very exciting.

Stay tuned for the continuing journey, after all the paper work the renovations will begin watch out Grand Design, you now have Grand Design Bahamas Style, take 1.

  2. I am your neighbor to be! A year ago a friend and I began renovation of a house in Tarpum Bay. It's finished now, and I spent January and February there. It's also pink: when you go into TB it is right in the center of town, just behind Bert's for the Best.
Email me, if you wish, and I can help you along.
